The side effects from these types of drugs can be extremely dangerous. The side effect that the drug causes is usually dependent on the action the drug takes in controlling the amount of fat in the body. Diet pills which are stimulants are likely to cause cases of high blood pressure, insomnia, a fast heart rate, and glaucoma. Drugs such as Orlistat are not stimulants, and many of these problems will not be seen.

If a patent is intolerant of stimulants and the side effects which they can cause, it is suggested that they take Orlistat instead. This drug works to stop fat from breaking down in the body, and this helps keeping fat under control. Despite this, Orlistat can cause stomach aches and stools which are oily.

Doctors are very limited in their understanding of diet pills at this time.
